BUILT BETTER
FROM THE INSIDE

The strength and longevity of your joinery depend on what lies beneath the surface. While many companies rely on cheaper board products, our standard begins with a superior substrate.

What You Don't See Matters The Most.

MATERIALS

UNDERSTANDING
COMMON BOARD MATERIALS

PARTICLE
BOARD

Large wood chips pressed together to form a panel. Cost-effective and widely used in standard cabinetry, but less stable and more prone to swelling over time.

MDF
(MEDIUM DENSITY FIBREBOARD)

Fine wood fibres compressed into a dense board. Smooth and ideal for painted finishes, but heavier and less structurally rigid over long spans.

Our Choice

HARDWOOD
PLYWOOD

Multiple layers of timber veneer cross-laminated together for strength. This layered construction makes plywood more structurally stable and suitable for long-lasting joinery.

WHY WE PREFER
PLYWOOD?

Hardwood plywood offers several advantages for long-term performance:

  • Stronger load-bearing capacity

Shelves stay rigid without needing overly thick panels, even when holding heavy books or items.

  • Better screw grip

hinges, drawer runners and fittings hold securely for many years without loosening.

  • More moisture resistant

plywood is naturally more stable when exposed to humidity or minor water contact.

HEALTHIER
MATERIALS

In Australia, E1 is the common emission standard used in most cabinetry materials.

We go further by specifying E0-rated plywood, which meets stricter emission limits and contributes to healthier indoor air quality.
